Temporary and preventive closure of the exhibition “The heritage of Rogier van der Weyden”
From Wednesday the 13th until Monday the 18th of November included the exhibition “The Heritage of Rogier van der Weyden. Painting in Brussels 1450-1520” is temporarily closed for technical reasons due to the intervention of a company on the Place des Musées/Museumplein. The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium have decided to protect every work of art and to ensure that they benefit from optimum storage conditions. At the moment, the humidity and temperature are stable and within the international standards. The Museums hope to open the exhibition again to the public on Tuesday the 19th of November


The heritage of Rogier van der Weyden. Painting in Brussels 1450-1520

Building on the results of recent research and existing studies, the exhibition gives an overview of painting in Brussels at the end of the 15th and the beginning of the 16th century, addressing the question from a historical, iconographic, stylistic, technical and economic perspective, and in terms of work organization and replicas.
